What is "SAM"?
"SAM" is an acronym for the sensory, affective, and motor processing that underly functioning. Sensory, affective, and motor processing is core to the SpIRiT clinical reasoning framework, which combines SAM into a relationship-based, sensory integrative model of intervention.
How do I know if I should join this webinar?
Our existing courses introducing the SPIRiT clinical reasoning framework are intermediate level. For the first time ever we are offering this webinar as an introductory level overview of the base of the SpIRiT tool. This webinar is a great entry point for anyone looking to elevate their clinical reasoning who isn't sure where to start. For those who have begun applying the SpiRiT to practice, this webinar will be a valuable refresher on key concepts to the framework.

Tracy Stackhouse, MA, OTR/L
Executive Director & Co-Founder of Developmental FX
Tracy Murnan Stackhouse, MA, OTR/L, a leading pediatric occupational therapist, co-founded Developmental FX (DFX) in Denver. She earned her OT degree from Colorado State University in 1985 and a Master's in Developmental Psychology/ Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Denver in 2003. Tracy collaborates with the National Fragile X Foundation and is on the faculty for the Polyvagal Institue. She is certified in SIPT, NDT, DIR Floortime, IPNB, and MSC. Tracy is dedicated to neurodiversity and engaged belonging as a vision for all. Her expertise includes authoring book chapters & papers on sensory integration, neurodevelopmental disorders, polyvagal theory, autism, FXS, and trauma. She is a sought-after educator, leading courses on these topics with a focus on multidisciplinary models & clinical reasoning. Tracy co-developed the SpIRiT & STEPPSI Tools, which are shared through the Spirited Conversations Podcast as well as through DFX’s training platform, Learning Journeys.
